10 Van Moer drivers awarded IRU Diploma
This weekend was a proud milestone for ten of our drivers as they received a prestigious IRU diploma. This recognition is confirmation of their professionalism, dedication and skills in safety and quality in road transport.

The IRU diplomas awarded this weekend are therefore not only a personal milestone for our drivers but also an achievement we are very proud of as a company.

What is the IRU?
The International Road Transport Union (IRU) is the world organisation for road transport, with a mission to promote economic growth and prosperity through the safe, sustainable and efficient movement of people and goods around the world. The IRU plays a crucial role in improving safety standards and professionalising drivers through their training programmes.
In Belgium, Febetra, the Federation of Belgian Transporters, plays a key role as initiator and promoter of these standards. Representing hauliers and logistics companies, Febetra works closely with the IRU and helps Belgian drivers with the necessary training.
They organise an annual award ceremony to make sure this special moment does not just pass by.
The Criteria for the IRU Diploma
To receive the IRU Diploma, drivers must meet strict criteria:
- at least 20 years of professional experience;
- more than 1,000,000 kilometres safely travelled;
- no serious accidents in the last 20 years;
- never infringed traffic, customs and administrative regulations
- at least 5 years of service with the same employer

The drivers who received the diploma this year are Jurgen De Bondt, Dirk De Middelaer, Yusufu Habimana, Ronny Andries, Jonathan De Mulder, Richard Forson, Joery Van Laeken, Willem Van Elswijk, Jean-Pierre Nieberding and Randy Willemyns.
