Van Moer puts truck drivers in the spotlight

Truck Driver's Day, an initiative of Febetra which aims to use it to put the truck driving profession in the spotlight in a positive way. More than 350 companies are taking part in the action today, including logistics player Van Moer Logistics. They are distributing soup, biscuits and gifts to 3,000 drivers at 30 locations today to thank them for their daily efforts.

INITIATIVE

This day is being organised for the second year in a row by Febetra, the professional federation of Belgian hauliers and logistics service providers. The organisation of this event is much needed because in a survey, only 18% of truck drivers indicated that they receive sufficient appreciation for their job. By organising the Truck Drivers' Day, Febetra hopes to boost this figure. On the same day, the Transport and Logistics Sector Institute is organising an identical event in the Netherlands.

PARTICIPANTS

More than 350 companies signed up to honour truck drivers today, as well as logistics company Van Moer Logistics. They distribute more than 3,000 portions of soup, biscuits and gifts from 30 different locations in Antwerp, Ghent and Brussels.

Jo Van Moer: "After last year's success, we didn't hesitate for a second to put our shoulders to the initiative this year too. It is a perfect day to thank our own, but also external drivers who visit our sites, for their daily efforts. Because without truck drivers, everything stops running, and this is still far too little realised. "

AFTER WORK

Every driver who logs on to one of Van Moer Logistics' sites today will receive a hot bowl of soup (or artisanal biscuits), a personalised Van Moer air freshener for in the cabin and a unique code to enter their win campaign. This will give drivers a chance to win an iPhone, bluetooth headset or safety jacket.

The initiative will continue tomorrow evening where all 500 drivers of Van Moer Logistics will be invited to a cosy afterwork with snacks, drinks and music. This way, drivers can end the working week in beauty in the company of their colleagues.
